Special Purchase- $20 Liberty Gold

Just got this email, I don't know much about these coins so I'll let you guy's decide:

100-Year-Old $20 Liberty Gold
at 20% Off Recent Highs!

Austin Rare Coins and Bullion just made a 1,000 coin acquisition of $20 Liberty Gold Coins dating from 1876-1907 and we're offering them to our Preferred Clients while supplies last. Normally when we recommend Pre-1933 U.S. Gold to our clients, it is certified by either NGC or PCGS. However, our research indicates that these raw, uncertified coins are now available for 20% below what you would have paid earlier this year.

These original $20 Liberty Gold coins are all over 100 years old, contain .9675 ounces of pure gold, and have been preserved in attractive "Commercial Uncirculated", or CU, condition. To the untrained eye they look to be in Mint Condition. If sent to a grading service such as PCGS or NGC, the great majority would grade AU-58 or MS-60.

We're recommending these uncertified $20 Liberties because their graded counterparts in Mint State-61 quality cost around 15% more, leading to our conclusion that the best value lies with these raw, Commercial Uncirculated examples. Click here for photos and more details on these classic, nearly one-ounce gold coins:

Coming Inflation Will Drive Gold Higher

All economic indicators point to coming inflation much like we experienced in the 1970's and it's clear with the Trillions of Dollars being printed by the U.S. Government that a strong U.S. Dollar will be difficult to sustain. We anticipate a whole new wave of investors will enter the gold market when the price surges through the psychological $1,000 per ounce level. Since each $20 Liberty contains almost a full ounce of gold, they are very sensitive to the trends of the market. Therefore, as gold pushes to new highs in the years ahead these large coins will follow.

Double Profit Opportunity

We feel that these large, uncertified $20's offer incredible value at today's prices. Many times over the course of this gold bull market, when investor demand surges, we've witnessed double price appreciation in $20 Gold Coins. First, they match the increase in value of the gold price. Second, they rise in value further as their premiums - the amounts buyers pay OVER their gold content - also surges. This often enables them to outperform their modern bullion counterparts like Gold Eagles.

Here is what leads us to this conclusion, and why we invested over a Million Dollars in acquiring this deal:

. We see opportunity in the fact that we can currently offer these raw, CU $20 Liberty Gold Coins for $200 less than they were just four months ago.

. Premiums can and often do change rapidly, particularly when a company promotes these coins to their client base. To our knowledge, no other companies are actively promoting them now, which allowed us to acquire them at very reasonable levels. We believe this to be a short window of opportunity to acquire them before premiums are driven higher.

. Most investors see $20 Liberty Gold coins as a safer alternative to modern bullion since it is widely regarded that if another gold confiscation occurs, coins with such numismatic appeal would be far less likely to be confiscated by the U.S. Government.

. These CU examples are trading for just $35 per coin more than a heavily circulated, Extremely Fine $20 Liberty. This narrow spread clearly makes our CU coins the logical buy at today's price.

While supplies last, we will be offering $20 Liberty Gold in CU condition for the following prices:

1 coin for $1,329
2-5 coins for $1,319 each-save $10 per coin
6-10 coins for $1,309 each-save $20 per coin
11-20 coins for $1,299 each-save $30 per coin

We expect an immediate sellout and urge you to call or email your Austin Gold Specialist right away to secure your coins. We won't be able to fill requests for specific years, however, early orders for multiple coins can expect a variety of dates.

As always, we appreciate your business.

Sincerely yours,

Ryan Denby

1 coin for $1,329

That's pretty steep. Surely there are better deals on the web. I dare say there's bound to be better deals, even on eBay...

Gainesville Coins has them for $1160.00 (bank wire) / $1185.52 (credit card) + shipping (prices as of 6/13/2009):

Common Date Liberty $20 Raw CU

No personal experience with these coins, but I have bought others from them without any problems.
